2023 is the year for exciting new movies. Whether they are new, never-seen-before ideas, movies that are coming back for a second or third time, or remakes of classic films. These ten movies are all a must-see this year.
#1 Creed III (March 3, 2023)
With outstanding reviews from billions of watchers, the first Creed movie made over one hundred and seventy million dollars. The third Creed is set to double the money earned and gain even more viewers. With over forty awards won and thirty being from the Creed series, Micheal B. Jordan returns to the big screen to continue his boxing journey. In Creed III, Creed is becoming more and more successful in his boxing career and family life. When an old friend of and a boxing legend, Dame Anderson, is eager to prove that he deserves his shot back inside in the ring.
#2 John Wick: Chapter 4 (March 23, 2023)
John Wick has to be one of the best action movies coming out in 2023. With amazing actors such as Keanu Reeves and Bill Skarsgård taking on the big screen, these actors are sure to make this film incredible. From an original story of hitman John Wick, to incredible fight scenes, this film is coming back for a fourth time this spring. John Wick is as close to the perfect action movie as they get. In the new John Wick movie, he must fight against new, and more enemies like Marquis de Gramont. Chapter 4 is not supposed to be the last film in this trilogy with a chapter 5 on the way in the next coming year.
#3 The Super Mario Bros. Movie (April 7, 2023)
The new Mario Bros. movie has to be one of the most anticipated movies of this year. From young kids to teenagers, or Nintendo-loving adults, this film fits all ages with a rating of PG. Amongst many other good things about this film like the amazing graphics and retro nintendo music and content, there are many amazing actors and actresses playing the voices of Super Mario Bros. characters: Chris Pratt plays the voice of Mario; Anna Taylor-Joy voices princess peach; and thirteen-time award winner, Jack Black is the voice of Bowser. Follow Mario, Princess Peach, and many other classical Nintendo characters in an attempt to stop the evil Bowser from taking over the world with his army of Koopas and other bad-guys.
#4 Killers Of The Flower Moon (May 2023)
Members of the richest oil nation are murdered under mysterious and sudden circumstances in the early 1920s. Filled with drama and crime, this film includes oscar-winner Leonardo DiCaprio playing the lead role of Earnest Burkhart, and Lily Gladstone playing Mollie Burkhart. The book “Killers Of The Flower Moon” written by David Grann, which came out in 2017, is now getting a major motion picture this spring, which is most well deserved. The Killers Of Flower Moon is set to be a mystery film that keeps you on the edge of your theater seat, the entire time.
#5 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (May 5, 2023)
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy are coming back for a third time this spring. Hilarious actors such as Chris Pratt and Bradley Cooper are always making the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy a comedy, while still being action-packed and full of adventure. Follow Peter Quill and his team as they blast into deep space; watch as they defend the galaxy along with protecting a universe of their own; we get to watch the team mourn over the loss of Gomora, but come back stronger than ever.
#6 Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (June 30, 2023)
With this being the fifth and final movie in the classic Indiana Jones series, it is set to be the best one that film director James Mangold has ever directed. Harrison Ford will return to the big screen this summer, who has been playing Indiana Jones for over thirty-five years now, and is returning this spring. In the film, we will follow the adventures of the archaeologist Indiana Jones. It is a sequel to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
#7 Barbie (July 21, 2023)
It’s been over five years since we’ve seen a new Barbie movie, and now this year, we get a PG-13 version starring two-time Oscar winners Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. This film comes out right in the heat of the summer, which could make for an amazing, funny, and upbeat summer film. Follow Barbie living in her own Barbie Land, who gets kicked out because of her imperfections. Barbie and Ken head out on their own adventures to find that everyone is beautiful, inside and out.
#8 Oppenheimer (July 21, 2023)
- Robert Oppenheimer, who is known as the original creator of the world’s first atomic bomb, is played by outstanding two-time award-winning actor Cillian Murphy. On July 16, 1945, Oppenheimer successfully detonated the first atomic bomb in Mexico. This film follows the life of young Robert Oppenheimer, and his help that led to the creation of the first atomic bomb.. This is a must-see if you like war and movies that are powerful and also very informative.
#9 Dune: Part II (November 3, 2023)
Dune: Part I earned one hundred and nine million dollars when it first came out in 2021 and was one of the most popular movies of its year. This time, Dune is coming back for a second round with the same amazing actors and actresses, like thirty-four-time award winning actress Zendaya, and oscar winner Timothee Chalamet. While also adding more actors like Austin Butler and Florence Pugh. In Part Two, viewers can expect the a continuation to the plot as part one, to favor the second half of the wicked adventure.
#10 Wanka (December 15, 2023)
Everyone knows the classic, academy award-winning, 2005 version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory starring Johnny Depp. This year, we get a return of the same story with Oscar-winning actor Timothée Chalamet playing a young Willy Wonka. The film serves as a prequel to the classic 2005 film. Follow a young Wanka and his early years in life before the opening of his legendary chocolate factory. Wanka will be directed by Paul King and written by both King and Simon Farnaby.
