New Coach Sparked Hope for the Win

Boys Basketball Game Against Hilcrest

On November 26th, boys basketball played their first game of the season against Hillcrest High. It would be the first win of the season and the first win for their new head coach John Watkins. 

The starting varsity lineup was Nathan Ehounou, Stone Hutching, Kylan Shorts, Chase Taylor, and Carson Butler. Butler got two 3-pointers in the first quarter then got switched out for senior Cole Booth. Booth then got two more 3-pointers and ending the first quarter 13-14 Copper Hills. 

Copper hills went on to get 23 more points making the score 32-36 by half time. 

In the 3rd quarter, Butler got 2 more 3 pointers and the boys pulled together to get the score to 45-54 by the end. During the 4th quarter, the boys scored 23 more points and finished with a score of 58-77. Nathan Ehounou (senior), said “ It was a great way to start off the season, and it was our coaches first win as a head coach.” 

The boys next game is against Layton who started off the season with beating American Fork. It will be a home game on December 6th and everyone should go out and cheer on our basketball team. Go Grizzlies!
